TIPS forsker på forebygging, årsaker, utløsende faktorer, behandling (medikamenter og terapi), forløp, og prognose ved psykoselidelser. Forskningen på forebygging ligger under delprosjektet Prevention of Psychosis (POP). Til sammen utgjør disse TIPS Senter for Klinisk Psykoseforskning.
