Australian of the Year
Leading youth mental health expert Professor Patrick McGorry has been named the Australian of the Year. McGorry is connected to the TIPS project in Stavanger, Norway as visiting professor.
Each year our nation celebrates the achievement and contribution of eminent Australians through the Australian of the Year Awards by profiling leading citizens who are role models for us all. They inspire us through their achievements and challenge us to make our own contribution to creating a better Australia.
Professor McGorry is the executive director of Orygen Youth Health (OYH) and a director of the National Youth Mental Health Foundation, which is also known as Headspace.
